October!
(9/23) 11 weeks old, Millie. Mmmm those lips. I could kiss 'em all day! Walter loves to talk about how much he wants to squish her. I totally get it.
I found a picture on Pinterest (my personal "drug" choice) of some wooden toys...so I decided to learn how to make some! Steve let me use his scroll saw and I don't think he knew what he was getting into by giving me permission, because I've used it like every week since...thanks, Steve! He told me he'd put it in his will for me, haha.
So these are the first toys I made, with Levi's help. We spent several hours on them! Walter has basically shown no interest, so I'll be throwing all of his other toys away so that he's forced to play with these ones.
The heart and the whale are gorgeous, right?! They were going to be chew toys for Millie (I've read really good reviews on babies using wooden toys for teething). Walnut wood is sooo pretty! Only one problem...it tastes like poison. Of course I tried chewing on them. "What's wrong?" I wondered. I did a little more research and found that it tastes like poison, because it IS poisonous and while it can be used for older kids, it shouldn't be used to make baby toys...because they chew on it...and that releases the poison...good to know! MAPLE and BIRCH are the ones you can let babies teeth on. Drat.

"Mommy, do you want your face painted? What animal do you want?"
"I'd like a butterfly!"
"...hmm...I can do a trampoline? Like Grandma's house."
"Close enough."
After that, he went and grabbed his "camera" (the light switch cover) to take a picture and show me. He went around like this for several days, asking people if he could paint their faces for them.
Here are some pictures of Walter in his primary program. Of course, we couldn't find this Sunday shoes, so he ended up in his flipflops. He loves those shoes. He kept slipping the chair in between his shoes and foot. He almost fell off the stage at one point. I wish I have filmed the whole thing. He was ADORABLE. When he got up and started singing, Levi and I teared up. We are such babies when he does this kind of stuff. He was such a big kid. He did great at his speaking part! "I am a child of God." He was a cheese the whole time. Making faces, giving me thumbs up's, and actually singing the songs!
I noticed his teachers bribing him with fruit snacks.
This is something that happens often...Walter misses her so much at night, that he'll climb into her crib with her.
Tummy time! She's 11 1/2 weeks old here.
My parents acted like being empty-nesters was going to be sooo sad. Whatever! They're loving it! I have always appreciated how much they adore each other and how they openly show affection. Even if it is gross...haha

Walter's preschool went to the Children's Museum in Salt Lake for a field trip. Walter had a great time!

He ended up really loving this water table and the air balls. He spent a lot of time at each station.
Afterwards we went and got Wendy's! Walter was already a little on edge, and then his hamburger fell onto the ground...it was pretty sad.
I started back at work. I only go one night a week, so it's not bad at all. I actually missed it! Nothing feels better as a server (besides a large monetary tip, of course) than a nice note from a customer. Something like this can totally turn my night around.
I also went off sugar for a few weeks. One of the hardest things ever! So making desserts like this was torture!

While my mom was out of town on a sisters' trip, my dad came over for dinner!
We were packing for a trip to Lava Hot Springs and I asked Levi which swimming suit Millie should bring. He picked the cherry one...such a dad.

Lava was a really fun trip! As always, trips with kids have their difficulties. "When are we getting there?" "Let's do something else!" "Let's go back to the trailer!" "I'm not tired!" But all in all, it was a lot of fun. Some of my favorite memories are family trips we took. Looking back, I'm sure we made our parents miserable! But I'm so glad they took us anyways.
Walter would live in this trailer if we let him. For a long time afterwards, he asked every day if he could go back to "Pop pop's trailer for a sleep over."
Best. Pool. Ever! It was WARM. I loved it!

We were only going to stay one night, but decided to stay two. On the first night, everyone went to bed, but Walter couldn't fall asleep. He literally crawled around until he was so exhausted, he just collapsed on top of my legs at 10 PM. Levi had already been asleep for an hour by then, haha. I wish Walter was as easy to get to sleep as Levi is!
