Woe is me

Woe is me. "Why?" you ask. I'll tell you why: My cousin's wife--we'll call her... "R"-- was due a week after me. Not only did "R" go against nature and look very VERY UN-pregnant during her pregnancy (she's basically a Caucasian version of an Amazon goddess), she also went into labor and had a beautiful healthy little boy on Thursday. And guess who's still very much pregnant? Me. And I'm supposed to be due before her. It's a good thing I like "R" or else I'd be much more upset about this situation. So woe is me.

8 Months Already?

I'm already over eight months pregnant. Crazy? I sure think so! On the one hand, I feel like I've been heavy laden with child for a lifetime. And on the other, there are times when I almost forget the little burden of joy who's protruding out of my abdomen. As fun as being pregnant is (and trust me, there are times when it's actually not that bad at all), I'm feeling done with the whole business. Thanks to baby showers from loving family and friends, we've got most of the things we need for a little nursery now!  And I've read of couple of overwhelming baby books, so I feel like a professional. I'll just need the baby to do everything it's supposed to...Well! It looks like we're getting more and more ready to hold the baby in our arms, rather than in my belly.

Here I am at 37 weeks!
Huge? I prefer "large and in charge," but yes I am. You see, I AM carrying another human being around all day long, thank you.

On a side note: I was (rightfully and excusably) mildly complaining about something the other day--most likely the tiny foot that was jabbing into my expanding ribs--when Levi (empathetically) retorts, "Whatever, I was in marching band. I know what it's like to be pregnant.".....Apparently carrying around a very heavy bass drum for several hours a day is comparable to pregnancy. His inappropriate comment made me laugh so hard I started contracting.

Reunions!

This summer has been really fun! We went on a couple of really fun family reunions.
Unfortunately, Levi and I weren't able to go to the one my Dad's family has every year in California (based on the fact that my doctor didn't like the idea of me being 11+ hours away and because my back ached just thinking about being in a car that long), so we're hoping to be able to go next year!
We were able, though, to go to my Mom's family's over in Heber and Levi's family's at Snowbird. They were both so much fun and we loved getting to see and spend time with family in the great outdoors.

Here are just a few from the Clark reunion:

I love this picture because of how awful it is.

He's my favorite to take pictures with.

...and the Johnson reunion:

This was the Tram group at the top of the mountain. It was BEAUTIFUL up there.
