The day before his birthday, we did a party with my family and ate all paleo foods! I decorated the house with over 150 pictures of him during his first year, along with some other decorations. The food was so good. Here was the menu: Lemon pepper salmon, cinnamon mashed yams, broccoli and mushrooms, and watermelon. For dessert we had a sugar-free, grain-free coconut cake and sugar-free peach ice cream. It was all so amazing! And since it was Paleo, Walter was able to eat all of it, which was way fun! We had a lot of friends come out and support Walter on his big day, which was awesome.
Then on Monday--his birthday--we went swimming at Luann's pool with the Johnsons. It was Mollie and Carter's birthday, too, so it was quite the party! We then went over to Grandma's house for some tasty dinner and Walter's first ever hair cut!

Two big parties were exhausting, but I'm so glad we were able to do it!
Here's where he's at as a ONE year old:
-Crawls like a champion
-Can almost say, "mama" and "dada."
-Can pull himself up on furniture and walk around it.
-Has eight sharp teeth!
-Still does the squishy face! But now he does it when he's especially annoyed or goofy.
-Can look at the right people when you say their name. Example, "Where's kitty-cat, Francis?" And he'll go start kissing Francis. Speaking of which...
-Will now give kisses if asked!
-Is a dancing machine.
-A binky addict
-He still loves breastfeeding, so we haven't stopped yet.
-Eats super healthy, and isn't very picky at all.
-Smiles all of the time.
-Is a Mama's boy. If I'm in the room, he needs to be held by, or near, me.
-Gets very excited when he sees his daddy or kitty. He'll get so giggly.
-Can claps his hands and do old-man lips.
-Can climb up and down stairs!
-His personality has developed a ton! I feel like he's a little shy, especially in new situations, but once comfortable, he's very goofy. He loves adventuring around and teasing. He's so funny. Also very very sweet. If we're lying on the floor, he'll come up and rest his head on me and give me kisses.
We can't believe how lucky we are to have the sweetest little boy in our lives! He's been the best miracle.
Happy Birthday, Walter!
